Bayahibe Travel Forum

My wife & I will be visiting Dominican Rep. for the first time next month staying at the Coral Canoa. Can anyone that has stayed at the resort give us some information and your impression? What are some things that stand out from your visit as must dos?

We are flying into Punta Cana and need to travel to Bayahibe by Taxi or bus. Can anyone recommend a company that can get us there?

We just came back from the Canoa Coral Hilton and had a very good time. We did a lot of snorkelling (bring your own gear,otherwise free use is limited to 1 hour a day), sailing, swimming and rowing. Hotel was pretty quiet. Excursions are quite difficult, due to the brakdown of the bridge near Bayahibe (you can go there by bus, cross the bridge by foot, quite an experience and travel further by bus or taxi).
Marvellous pool, though not very deep. Food reasonabe to good, lots of it anyway. We enjoyed the free cocktails! Don't drink the house wine!
