| Judetul Cluj | Traveling To Cluj Posted: Wed October 6, 2004 12:33 AM UTC
I’ll be going to Cluj, Romania for about a month or a little longer, around January or February. I plan on applying at the University for next year. What are the chances of finding an apartment to rent for one month? I heard that a one bedroom apartment goes for around 120 EU. Also is there any advice anyone could give me about the application process for the University? I would be grateful for any advice.

You can find all information you need on the application at the university on the excellent website of Babes - Bolyai University of Cluj, one of the largest universities in the country. Just check this out:
http://www.ubbcluj.ro/ubb-en/admitere/admitere.html As far as a one bedroom apartment (studio / Ro. garsoniera), 120 EUR won't be an easy bid to find in a city like Cluj, which has some of the highest rental rates in the country, even higher than Bucharest. However I think you should contact a real estate agency, but do not make any committments before seeing with your own eyes. Better stay at the excellent www.retro.ro for a few days and have Radu there recommend you a real estate agency or so. Mind you that the university year has started and this means rates have gone higher and places - more difficult to find, therefore be prepared to walk a little and leave teh Ursus for a few days later ;) Generally speaking, because not all these websites down here have English versions, "inchiriere" = rental, chirie = rental fee (per month always), "luna" = month, "an" = year. Here you have some agencies you could contact before setting off to Cluj: http://www.biozone.ro/ http://www.agentia-ancuta.ro http://www.casa-gama.ro http://www.aleea.ro http://www.grupdelux.ro http://www.edil.ro http://www.maxintermedia.ro http://www.imobilgrup-consult.ro http://www.mix-up.company.imobiliare.ro http://www.nobila-casa.ro http://www.plus.imobiliare.ro Huh, I need a cup of coffee now ;) Good luck and let me know whether I can be of any further help. Thank you Alex for the wonderdfull websites. The retro seems like a fair priced and comfortable place to stay while I make my arrangments. Also I have found some websites on the Unversity but the one you posted has more information then the others and has been very helpful to me. I am still looking through the other websites you gave me. Thank you again for your help.
