have you a personal experience of staying in Jerome (AZ) ?
Does it worth a visit or a stay ? What can we see there ? Do you advice the Hotel Conner ? or an other accomodation in this city ? Thanks RAY |

Jerome is worth a visit but I suggest you stay in another town. Jerome is small and unique but not far from Cottonwood and Carkdale which are in the valley and have many more accomodations and are cheaper than Jerome or the other popular town in the area Sedona.. Check with Palo Verde she knows the area very well. I have just driven through it--last week we drove from Prescott to Flagstaff on 89A but did not stop as we were enroute to Albuquerque. The drive from Prescott to Sedona through Jeome, Clarkdale, and Cottonwood on hiway 89A is very scenic and proceeding north from Sedona on up to Flagstaff on 89A also provids spectacular views. I would not plan on staying in Jerome though. BTW a earlier post is asking about transportation in Paris and I recommended you as a good source of information on the subject.

I have never heard of Jerome but I would recommend visiting Sedona...a beautiful place, inspite of all the tourists.

I have to agree.. Jerome is fine to look around for a few hours, but there are nicer and more interesting places to stay. I found it very "touristy," but that's just my opinion.

just to disagree with agbat ;-)
i went to jerome and found the little town (village) incredibly tacky and deprved of any charm... especially the frontier town charm hey are advertising. i would suggest u give it a miss. alternative: not too far from there there's the incredible anasazi (spelling?) montezuma castle. so much better!

We stayed in a state campground in Cottonwood, AZ and drove up to Jerome for a day. We enjoyed our visit very much. If you like old tools and other "junk" the Ghost Town" museum in Jerome is fun. It IS a tourist place, but the collection of old items and the small old working lumber mill at the "Ghost Town" are fun to see. Near Cottonwood the Tuzigoot National Monument, ruins from the Sinagua and Hohokam people from the 11th - 15th century is very interesting.

i was in Jerome last June and it was definetly worth a visit. It might be neat to spend a night there but I do agree that Sedona is much more worthwhile. It is also very high up and if you do not like heights I don't suggest it.

Hi , you must stay at The Jerome Grand Hotel. It sits atop the hill and it was the old county hospital reputed to be haunted. The food is very good but the views are speactacular. Enjoy
