How many towns make up Kulai city , apart from Senai ? In September, I was fortunate to read that Kulai has become a city. So, it should be treated as a new city differently from Johor Bahru, and not part of Johor Bahru.

Kulai encompasses Senai. So the Senai Airport's airport code should be changed from JHB to something like KAI. The City Lounge of Senai Airport should the code JHB because City Lounge is in Johor Bahru.

Johor Bahru city is small and more polluted than Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. It's sad that Kulai cannot be a city because it is not as polluted as Johor Bahru.

Audrey & Lee are rite on the criteria for city status. Normally, the population and revenue generated by the local authority are the most commonly used criteria.

Melaka was made a city in 2003 and for political reason, Georgetown is not recognised as city since its "city's" status was obatained during the colonial days. For some weird reason, PJ could not be a city (though its qualified) as it is sandwiched between KL & Shah Alam - too close frm each other.

Re airport code, I doubt JB city lounge will be known as JHB even if Kulai/Senai has its own code due to lack of airport facility in JB. In contrast, KL Sentral has its own code (XKL) as airport check in facilities are available there.

Just my 2 cents, correct me if I'm wrong.

Did not know that Sentral was XKL...that is a good tip!!!
But I know only selected airlines can do the 'checkin in' from Sentral - CX, MAS and I think Brunei air. The rest need to be at KLIA.
I really wonder why Kulai deserves to be a city status...not even PJaya. I have very poor idea of Kulai, only having been there to visit some factory clients and have seen too many Montel banana plantation!!!

Where can i find the map of Kulai ? One of your Malaysian Chinese newspapers says that Kulai is very big. Senai and other towns are part of Kulai. What ar ethe other towns ? Can you reveal their names ?

I support the idea of City Lounge having a separate code from Senai Airport.

Kulai is NOT a city! Where did you hear that from?
It's just a small town north of Johor Bahru.
