I am planning to go to Paris or Nijmegen in for tango at the end of December ultimately I would like to be in Nijmegen for New Years. I am debating whether to fly into Paris or Amsterdam.
How do I find a train schedule and prices from Paris to Nijmegen? If you have a rough idea of the price that would be great. Also, If you have information on the approximate price on the bus that would be helpful too.

You can sort out your train travel at the Dutch Railway site at :

although the furthest date available on the moment is mid-november.

The NS does not give any price info on the international journeys on their website.

On NYE the Dutch trains are not running after 8PM.

If you are still looking to where to enter Europe it may be also an option looking at London. From London there are cheap flights by Ryanair to Niederrhein Airport, which is only half an hour by bus (around 10 EUR) or car from Nijmegen. More on Ryanair and the Airport(-connections) on:

By train you can try www.ns.nl, both for train schedules from Amsterdam and for a high speed (Thalys) coonection from Paris. They have english pages, and should have special deals for the train from time to time. Normal fares are around EUR 75 for a ticket to Paris-Amsterdam, and EUR 20 for Amsterdam-Nijmegen.
Alternatively, if you want to see more of Europe it is also worth while to consider a Eurail ticket. As far as I know it's best to buy in in advance in the States: www.eurail.com.

Will the Eurail take me to those places? Someone suggested entering through London and that would be fabulous for plane trips to the Paris or Nijmegen. The Eurail sounds good starting in London and then to Paris or to Nijmegen or back. I will check the site. Do you know if there are extra charges to go to all those places. I imagine I will go for three weeks. Is it time based or destination based? Any approximations on prices would be great too.

you may have mistaken Eurail with the Eurostar. Eurail is a general site where you can buy a (10-day, 15-day, month-) ticket for railways all over (western) Europe, the Eurostar is a high speed train that takes you from London to Paris or Brussels. From there you then have connections to the rest of the continent again, including Nijmegen.
