| Ancona | is there anythign between ancona and venice? Posted: Sun October 3, 2004 01:27 PM UTC
will be at the conference in ancona, and bring my 6year old with me. I thought to go and spend a couple of day in venice after the conference..well it turns out we will be arriving on oct. 24 , the day of the venice marathon..
do you have any ideas of what we could do between ancona and venice for a day? some place where we can easily get to and find accomodations. and should i buy the tickets on the train in advance, is there a thing like no seats on the train? thank you nina |

Hi Nina... if i got it right, you are travelling by train, right?
Assuming that, the train line Ancona - Venezia passes Bologna, Ferrara and Padova: all charming cities (see them on VT). With a little diversion (very little, expecially if you are splitting your trip intwo legs) you can stop in Mantova, Verona or Vicenza. Depending on days and hours, 2^ class coaches can be sometimes very full (no seat available... need to stand in aisles..). That is very very rare for 1st class. So, probably it's better to book your seats (coasts a little more..) if you are planning to travel 2^ class. You can buy train tickets and book your seats in most of the travel agencies around town, so it would be probably easy. Have a nice trip. Ciao Francesco
