Re: Re: When does it snow in Lake Tahoe Posted: Sun October 3, 2004 07:01 PM UTC
Travel time depends on time of day and road conditions. Normally, about 3 to 3 1/2 hours should do it, but if it happened to be snowing in the Donner Pass , time could be a lot longer. In snow season always bring chains or have a 4-wheel drive SUV. As for places to stay, many motels and a few hotels in the Incline Village area. Also on the Cailfornia side in Kings Beach. see website. www. tahoe.com. Have stayed at the Tahoe Sands in CA and the Hyatt Regency in Incline Village, NV. Both different. Sands is a cabin stye with kitchen while Hyatt is full Resort/Casino. ON your way up to Tahoe you want to stop in Auburn. Worth visiting, old Highway 49 town, at the I-80, even if just for gasoline and a reststop.
