Do you think Chittagong is cleaner than Dhaka? I'm going to Chiang Mai(north of Thailand) next month with my mum and there's a flight on Thai Airways to Chittagong so I'm thinking of going there just for the heck of it(I'll go to Bangladesh again in March anyway). My mum is really concerned about the cleanliness because she went through the chemotherapy last year though it has been over for like 6 months now, it's still not a good idea to go through all the dirts. If we decide to go, it will be only one or two nights. Do you think it's OK?

When you say 'dirt' do you mean polluted air or contaminated food or unclean lodging?
I can't commment on the the food or lodging, but the air is definitely not as polluted as Bkk. If your mom can handle a couple of days breathing in Bkk, Chittagong should be a breath of fresh air. There may be lots of airborne particulate matter (Bkk has that too of course) i would be more concerned with other dissolved pollutants which are far more prevalent in Bkk. Hope you can convince your mom to go.

I know Bangkok is probably one of the most polluted places but what I meant was in general...like how clean the pathway is, stuff like that.

Yea, its not bad or too poluted for travel or roam around in Chittagong.
Its ok for 2/3 days, the air is less poluted than BKK.

Dear Peak
Chittagong is cleaner than Dhaka. But once you are in Bangladesh, you should visit Dhaka. As you are used to with Bangkok, you will not feel much uncomfortable in Dhaka. I feel, it will be OK for you. Visit Wish you an excellent trip to Dhaka, Peak. - Alice
