| Cu Chi | Cu Chi - Shooting Ranges Posted: Fri October 1, 2004 05:49 AM UTC
Hello All,
I was reading in the lonely planet guide something about some shooting ranges around around CuChi. I am not a sicko or anything but heard that you can fire off AK-47's, M16's etc. Does anyone have any info on this? ie Address, contact details, experiences? All comments on the subject would be greatly appreciated. |

Yeah, there is a "National Defence Sports Shooting Range" at the Cu Chi Tunnel Site. Lots of guns there, American , Soviet , Viet , everything under the sky, etc. I think they charge about US$1 for 3 bullets. Definitely a must try when you're there.
If you're going to Cu Chi from HCMC, you can join the tour by Sinh Cafe. It's only about US$4 for the 1/2 day tour. Transport, guide and tickets to the centre are included. Details of the tour agency are in my HCMC website. Cheers Glenda

Take a day trip to the tunnels and you can do some shooting the bullets cost $US1 each if I remember correctly. They have quite a variety of weapons to choose from
I don't know of any other ranges in the area.

Wow, $4 for a half day tour sounds cheap, can that be right?
I'm no sicko either, but I admit gripping an AK-47 and squeezing off a few rounds holds a certain amount of appeal.

i took a few few shots at the shooting range when i was there.
it is a pretty good laugh and it makes a good photo to show your worried mother when you return home.

Pictures - Haha, thanks for the idea, now I got something to show my mother!
Yeah, the day trip is only US$4 or $5. You pay US$1 more if you want those guys to pick you up from your hotel. Take note though that Cuchi is the Tay Ninh Region, so the journey is a good 1.5hr bum-rotting ride away. Cheers bpacker

I have got my Sinh Cafe brochure to double check prices for you. It states 1/2 day trip $US4 A/C bus ticket(they use the term loosely) plus $US5 or 65,000VND entrance fee plus $US1 per bullet. Pick up at 8am return for 2pm. A day well worth the $US10 you can also pick up some inexpensive souvenirs at the tunnels little laquered jewellry boxes, pen holders, business card holders ranging in price from $US1-$US5 they make nice liitle gifts providing of course you have the room to carry them.
