i have visited arnhem quite alot and know of all the daytime and early evening things to do, so we will be ok for that. however we are wondering about places to go after dark for drinks and dancing. can anyone point us in the right direction.. we are not teenagers !! also are there any karayoke bars in arnhem ??

Well, the nightlife in Arnhem is excellent, though I must say that the number of Karaoke-bars is limited, Actually - not being a fan myself - but living here all my life ... I know that one or two have tried to survive here but were doomed from the first weeks alive. It's just not a Dutch thing as we have other ways to sing along. In Holland some Dutch songs are so popular that everyone knows them by heart and in our "brown cafe's" these songs are sung out loud by everyone.

Dancing can be done until 02:00 hours in many dancings, clubs and discotheques. Between 02:00 and 03:00 all cafes without a night permit close and only five dancings / discotheques go on until around 5:00 in the morning. Manhattan is one of them and my favourite as here is a mix of all ages, styles and statusses (others are in far majority ruled by teenagers).

The average nightlife (mainly on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night) starts with gathering in a cafe around 22:00 hours (sometimes after a dinner in one of the restaurants). After midnight one goes into a club or discotheque to dance the night away.

Sorry to say: Zinc hardly can be called a karaoke-club. It has had some special nights in which karaoke was a side thing, ut generally Zinc is a dancing. Want to know more:
