| Zahle | CYCLING LEBANON / TRIP Posted: Tue September 28, 2004 04:12 PM UTC
I am planning a 6- to 7-day trip by mountain bike through Lebanon starting and finishing in Beirut. The Internet does not seem to have a lot of infomration available and was wondering if you could assist suggesting a good route.
I was thinking: Beirut - Beiteddine - Zakhle - Baalbek - Becharre - Byblos - Beirut. All information is welcome. frank3ders@yahoo.com |

i do several months of tour cycling every year.
in fact, right now i am biking through montenegro on my way to georgia. i cycled a bit around lebanon back in 1998 and i have to say that i did not find it so suitable for cycling, because it by far has the worst drivers i have seen anywhere in the whole world. the roads are also small and narrow and you have a lot of big cars there. i would suggest that you stick to only the smaller roads. they are fine for cycling and traffic is OK.
