eating in den helder

visiting on 23rd Feb - will arrive after 8.00pm - where can I find somewhere to eat or a supermarket to buy some food? Are there any fast food places?

The airport has a burger king and numerous restaurants (not cheap but not too bad either) Airport has a supermarket too, open late (midnight it used to be check out www.schiphol.nl and choose english)

Eiskje is right, but save some hunger to eat in Amsterdam. Walking from Central Station into town will be a perfect "entree" of our capitol and here are several ways to eat (from exclusive restaurants until snackbars - the last are very Dutch!). Again ... best wishes for your stay and travel. Paul

I assume you are arriving at 8 PM at Den Helder. You are lucky, bacause it's "koopavond", so the shops are open till 9PM. From the train station you walk North onto the big square. At the right there is an AH supermarket. If you want I can meet you there, because I will be at Den Helder too. See my Den Helder page for a restaurant tip.

Thanks for your help everyone - with a constantly hungry teenager in tow food is a priority!!!

At least I know he will not fade away the day we arrive - thanks again.
