I WOULD LOVE TO SEE SOME CASTLES WHILE I'M IN SELB... AND ANY THING ELSE COOL LIKE THAT..
I WILL ONLY BE ABLE TO DO THIS AFTER TRAINING DURING THE DAY, ANY DAY DURING THE WORK WEEK....... THE WEEKEND I HOPE TO BE IN FRANKFURT....... SO MY TRAVEL WILL BE MINIMAL...
I'D LOVE TO HAVE SOMEONE SHOW ME AROUND... THAT SPEAKS ENGLISH TO....... JC

You're mid December in Selb in the Fichtelgebirge region?
It will get dark around 5pm and the Fichtelgebirge is also a "Schneeloch" (a snow whole as we call it - a place where it likes to snow).

There are some interesting castle ruins on the hills in this region. Nice and romantic - but not really something for this time of the year.

The most intersesting castles in towns are
- Burg Hohenberg (~ 15 km south-east of Selb)

If you just want to go to Frankfurt for the big city life and not something else (airport etc.) I would rather recommend to go to Prague (much closer (~200 km) and cheaper). Or to Berlin which is also no more distant than Frankfurt.

For the typical Bavarian/Franconian experience go to the even closer cities of Bamberg (the real beer capital of Germany) and Nuremberg with its famous Christmas Market.

Hey,

when you're in Selb you can visit the factory shop of Rosenthal.
Sometimes you can find really nice glasses or cups there - if you'll buy them in a regular shop this items are very expensive.

But one question - what are you doing in Selb? Before i visited a customer at that place i had never noticed it ( only as an exit at the motorway)

Sorry for the belated answer... in the beginning of December i guess it will be very cold and rainy. Sometimes you'll find snow (Selb is in Bavaria) I guess it could be under 0 degrees but it could be also 10 or more degrees .. . (but never 20 or more) :-)
