Hello Antwerp !

Would there be sthg special on Saturday in your city ?
I'll go there with my parents and would like to know beforehand whether there would be some kind of "Journée du patrimoine" or a car-low day on Sat.

Thanks

Norali

Maybe this can help :

The car-lows days are over as far as I know. And OpenMonumentenDag was last weekend... But there is always 'something' to do of course...:-)

Have fun !

yep Norliveke you missed the car low day and the zuiderzinnen.

'tWinkelend Noord'. Tussen 13 en 19 uur vindt u fanfares, steltlopers,
walking acts, shows, ... in alle winkelstraten tussen Dambruggestraat
en
Sint-Jansplein. De winkeliers en buurtverenigingen organiseren een
braderij

Sint jansplein is right behind the Rooseveltplaats (5 minutes walk)

that is all I could find so far, they are late with newsletters for coming weekend
btw visit some churches as well `)

Datums:
(25 September 2004) (26 September 2004)

I know , you probably don't like it....but I'll ad it anyway.;-)

But be polite and wait untill the man with the grey beard has finished his game of tetris on the computer.

Who knows maybe a lady can draw his attention , see if he looks at you.

I guess i'll fetch a French map. Not everyone in my family speaks English. My Dad doesn't speak English so I'd rather have a French one to have a map that everyone would be able to read.

Frank,

As for the names of the street, i'll translate ;-) On Sunday, I just went subscribing for the second semester of intensive Dutch so I guess the first 6 months of Dutch would be helpful.

Most say Flemish because they want to make a distinction between ours and what is spoken in the Netherlands, although the language is the same, there are still some differences in the words and expressions we use.
Sometimes foreigners think it is 2 different languages, so I think it causes a little bit of confusing.

Something special you asked?
Do you like art? There will be a special beach event on Saturday 25th at the St Annastrand (St Anneke) at the left shore of the "Schelde".
If there is enough wind, a giant animal made from plastic pipes and bottles will try to walk.
The wind should blow in the open plastic bottles and make this animal move.

see www.strandbeest.com
and if you know Dutch: http://www.atthis.be/html/cultuur.htm

yes LOL something is weird about it hahaha
I am sure you will manage?
with a map and recognizing the places you have been before, I am sure it will be ok :)

as for me LOL I don't know `-)
Maybe I go to discover the cinquantenaire area with Els... see how far and how long it takes from one place to the other (for my trip to Brussels in January) but I think I will evt suggest people to go for the best fries of Brussels and a drink at that pub we were at at the meeting?
not yet sure for the next program of the afternoon.
