Thanx very much for LEICS reply. Regarding our short 11 hours short stay @ zurich,we are Indian National. Appreciate your help
Thank you. You could have replied on your first thread, by the way..that's fine). You have posted this in the Zurich, Netherlands forum but I think you are asking about visas to Switzerland (and will be landing in Zurich?). As Indian citizens you will need to look at the information and requirements on the Swiss Embassy website: eda.admin.ch/eda/en/home/rep... You will need a visa to enter Switzerland, I think....in other words, you will need a visa if you swish to go 'landside' in Zurich.

Be aware Switserland is not a so-called Schengen country. With your Swiss visa you can not enter neigbouring countries. PJ

Switzerland _is_ a Schengen country, and has been for a bit over three years now. Which means that you don't need a seperate Swiss visa.

Although it is not in the EU, I think Switzerland has been part of Schengen since 2008, PJ? But the poster only has an 11-hour layover so won't have time to travel outside Zurich anyway, imo.

Btw, Zurich, Friesland is a tiny place of little touristic interest, except to passing Swiss who like to take their picture in front of the village sign...

I stand corrected; I mixed up EU and Schengen! .... and I see I have to work at my Dutch Zurich page: "Zurich" - Zurich by pieter_jan_v At least there is 1 road restaurant. PJ

EU and Schengen is indeed not the same thing. The UK is in the EU, but not part of the Schengen agreement. Norway is not in the EU, but is part of Schengen. Same for Switzerland, and Liechtenstein...
