There is quite a lot to see in Zurich. I particularly liked walking by the lake. You can do boat trips on the lake. I would recommend a trip to Rapperswill. You can go there by train or boat from Zurich. It is on the lake, has lovely old buildings, castle, rose gardens and some deer.

Hi, Zurich is a very compact city and is best discovered on foot. The distances are small, so you can easily walk by the lake, then along the Bahnhofstrasse (the main shopping street) towards the railway station in a very short time. You can also take walks on the nice lanes by the river Limmat. The Limmat runs through the city centre. As Zurich is pretty small, it's incredible how much you can see in just one day, so with 4 days, you will have time to see a lot. I wish you a happy stay:-) Ellen

Zurich is a small city, which offers at the same time everything you can have in a metropolis. What you must do is to walk along the Bahnhofstrasse until the lake and continue to the left to Bellevue. In the proximity you will find the old town, Niederdorf (or Niederdörfli) with several pubs and take away possibilities. Have a look here: www.zuerich.com and click tours for other suggestions. It is better to avoid the car in the city center, as public transports work perfectly and are really efficient (www.vbz.ch). If you wanna visit other cities, I really recommend Lucerne more than Bern and Basel. It's just 45 minutes away and can be easily visited within one day.
