Hi, I'll move to Zhongshan, Xiaolan county very soon. Anybody can tell me if it is possible to find an apartment?
Are you going to be dealing with particular companies there? If so ask them for advice or maybe look on www.deltabridges.com as it is an expat site that covers Zhuai, Zhongshan, Guangzhou, Dongguan and Shenzhen and has really helpful people.

I live in Zhongshan, Eastern District. Finding an apartment is no problem but dealing with agents is. You should get someone who can speak Chinese to help you. Before you approach an agent, make sure what you're looking for in order to avoid wasting time seeing dozens of unsuitable places. Rents are reasonable...just under 1000 RMB/mo for 1 bedroom, under 2500 RMB for 2 bedrooms, and less than 3500 RMB/mo for 3 bedrooms. Many places are brand new and furnished. You wil have to pay half a month's rent as the agent fee (the landlord pays the same amount).
