Could you please kindly suggest a preferable itinerary for 3 days Guilin visit? How much does a cab cost to book for 3 days from airport pickup, 3 day tour and airport drop?

      Does below makes any sense
      Day1

      Guilin City tour
      Drive/Train/Bus to Dazhai, Longsheng

      Day2

      Drive to Yangshuo
      Li River, other attractions
      Drive to Guilin

    • Central station in Beijing

      China 13 hours ago

Hi, We are arriving from Ulan Bhator at Beijing central station and need to get to Beijing airport for an onward flight to Japan. I have done research into transfers but all the details are from a variety of stations, none of which are referred to as the central station. Can any one help with the name of the station? Also any tips of a quick transfer would be great as we have just under 3 hours to get from the station to the airport (which l understand is about 30 km so should be doable - if l have the right station!)

      Many thanks

    • is it better to stay in Hong Kong or Shenzhen?

      Shenzhen Apr 26, 2015 at 10:23 PM

Hi We are coming to Hong Kong for 8 days, my question is is it worth it to break it up and spend a few nights in Shenzhen for the shopping or should we just commute? From what I remember on our last trip, (we only spent a day in Shenzhen) it was exhausting and we only went in one shopping building which had multiple floors. Is there any other shopping besides that one building and is it worth it to stay for a few days as opposed to just going for a day. Basically what I would like to know is there more than just that one building for shopping? I know the prices were much lower than in Hong Kong and since this is mainly a shopping trip I'm curious to know what others think if it's worth our while spending a few days there. Thanks.

Hey guys, i am planning on taking a trip to shanghai in july and was wondering if its possible to visit the mountain in a day and be back in shanghai? i found that a bus from shanghai station to Tangkou will take roughly 6 hours if i leave on the first one at 6am, spend a few hours on the mountain (4-5hrs) and then take a bus back to shanghai. is this a good idea or crazy? also, i dont know exactly which bus goes back to shanghai and from where (Tangko or tuxni) if anyone has experience/advice/suggestion or specific bus routes to take would help a lot!. thanks

      Senior tourists entrance fee

by orchid1949 Online Now Jan 31, 2015 at 6:08 AM

I wonder if we can apply for senior discounts visiting National parks, museum, etc in China. Last October, we visited zhangjiajie, Wulingyuan, Fenghuang...we showed our passports which the ages shown over 65 years old. Everywhere we went, we were charged normal entrance fee as the guide said that it is not applicable. I think the guide tried to overcharge us. Or the senior discount only apply for Chinese citizens? Since the fees are very expensive and we visited many places where fee required. It came up almost 1000 yuans for one week there.

What to photograph in Zhangjiajie Scenic Park(s)

by SandiM Online Now Jul 26, 2013 at 2:11 PM

Canadian here, semi-professional photographer, I sell my photos at my local crafters market and this helps me pay for my next trip. I've photographed China a few times already, customers love it. I'm going to ZJJ in September and have only 1 day to select the most photogenic spots of the Park and need help narrowing down my selections. I was thinking about Avatar mountain (it might sell, if I get some mists in the shot) and maybe Baofeng Lake (we don't have that kind of scenery in Canada especially the karst mountains), but what else? I've done Huangshan and I have a pretty good portfolio of that kind of topography so I really need something 'different'. I am doing Tianmenshan on another day, and the ZJJ Grand Canyon on the final day. So, just mainly speaking of the park and surrounding area (by publice transport), what shall I do? I noticed a lot of the scenery reminded me of Bryce Canyon in Utah (a different color tho!), so I'm not sure if that's really different enough for my folks. There's a couple natural bridges around there that might be cool. Other suggestions?

I will be arriving Guilin early January 2010, since I have 14 days to travel, I am thinking of going to Zhangjiajie/Feng Huang Gu Cheng first.
The following would be my tentative itinerary:
D1: Arriving Guilin in the morning 1100, then take a train to Changsha, Hunan; stay a night in Changsha.
D2,morning: Leaving Changsha for Zhangjiajie; stay in Zhangjiajie.
      D3 ~D5: Zhangjiajie.
D6, morning: Leaving ZJJ for Feng Huang Gu Cheng. Stay in Feng Huang Gu Cheng.

      D14, afternoon: Fly home.
Now, I need some helps from the seasoned travelers for the following doubts:
      1) Is the above itinerary too hectic? Improvement on it would be much appreciated!
      2) Is there any direct transport from Guilin to Zhangjiajie/ Feng Huang Gu Cheng instead of going to Changsha?
      a) What is it?
      b) how long to travel?
      c) How much time to travel?
      d) How much RMB?
      3) Any other road transport other than train?
      a) how much RMB?
      b) and the time needed to travel?
      c) How much RMB?
      4) Actually, what is the best way to go to Zhangjiajie/ Feng Huang Gu Cheng from Guilin?

Suggestions on better plans would be appreciated!
Looking forward to your great help!

How long is needed in ZhangJiaJie, etc.?

by greencargirl Online Now Sep 9, 2009 at 8:49 PM

      Hi Everyone,

We're planning a visit here soon (this month or next), along with Changsha, Chengdu, and JiuZhaiGou.

Any thoughts on how long is needed to enjoy ZhangJiaJie? We'll likely arrive in the evening, so we can start early the next morning and are wondering if one day is sufficient, though we prefer a liesurely pace.

Also, we're still trying to figure out the best route for our trip to all these places, looking at flight costs and so on. Right now we're thinking of starting in ZhangJiaJie (flying there from Beijing)where we can then go to Changsha, Chengdu, JiuZhaiGou, then back through Chengdu to Beijing. If you've done a similar route or have any thoughts on this, please do share!

      Many thanks in advance.
