Do you have any information on taking pottery or ceramics classes in Essaouira?
Hey folks!
I happen to be at a friends wedding in Malaga the last weekend of June. I have one week off work afterwards.
Now I thought about an itinerary like this:
monday: Malaga - Gibraltar
tuesday: ferry to Morocco. (1) They go to Tangier, right? To the city itself or only to that port further west? Are there ferries to Ceuta? Are there ferries overnight?
wednesday - friday: along the north-western coast to Melilla
late friday/early saturday: ferry to Malaga
late saturday: flight back
(2) Is this a feasible route in your opinion?
Or will it be a constant rush?
(3) I know virtually nothing of Morocco. Will I come by with my rusty french? I can't read nor speak arabic.
(4) what about transportation? I am aware that my route does not belong to the most popular ones. Is it easy to catch minibusses? Is hitch-hiking a known thing there?
(5) are there accomodation options along the way, even in small untouristic places?
(6) is there anything to consider regarding safety?
(7) I assume all the involved border-crossings won't be an issue. Is that naive?
(8) Do you have any recommendations along that route. Is Chefchaouen worth it to leave the costal road?
A lot of questions, I know. ;-)
I hope you will help me to solve some of them.
Thanks a lot guys!
Mischka
Hi all,
Would be grateful if anyone can share travel tips/advise on how best to reach Tangier from Granada.
Is it better to take ferry from Algeciras to Tangier Med or take a train to Malaga and continue by bus to Tarifa and then take a ferry to Tangier? We will be using a travel guide in Tangier as we hope the chance of being hassled will be minimized this way. Will it be relatively easy to get tickets on the same day for overnight train to Marrakesh from Tangier for early October? Hopefully it is not a peak season or holiday season in Morocco. Thanks before hand.
we are going on 8 days trip with a 4x4 in the south of Morocco. We are staying in the following hotels (raids)
Ourika in hotel Ourika ***
Kalaa M'Gouna in hotel Ksar Kaissar ***
Teneghir in hotel Bougafer ***
Merzouga tentcamp
Zagora in hotel Salam****
Ouarzazate Hotel Fint
2 Nights Marrakech Hotel Amine
As I can find little or old information about these hotels I was wondering if someone could help me with the latest and personal information from any from these Hotels?
Thank You
We're planning a 14 day trip to Morocco from the US, flying into Casablanca in September.
I have heard that driving in the Imperial Cities is challenging, so we are looking for an escorted tour for the cities.
After that we are considering on renting a vehicle to visit the following stops:
1.Chefchaouen
2.Ait ben Haddou
3. Oqarzazate
4. Marakesh
5.Overnight camel trek in the desert to Erg Chebbi
6. Possibly a day at Agadir or Essaouira
Can anyone suggest a good way to do this? Any good tour operators? Could this be accomplished within our 14 days ?
anyone knows what the temperature like in the desert? i'm planning to take an overnight stay on a tent in August.
Hi, I am trying to organize a five day trip for myself, my Mom and her friend (two ladies in their early 60s with a bit of swing in their step). I would like to spend just a day in Marrakech, two days in Fez and a day in Chefchaouen. We fly in and out of Marrakech. Also we would like to rent a car. Is this doable?
Hi everyone - I am taking a trip to Spain in January and I really want to take a 3-4 day side trip to Morocco. I don't really want to do the day trip to Tangiers as I heard it's not really representative of the country and that it's constant pressure to buy things and just extremely touristy. I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions on tours that are good - I would love to do a desert camel tour. I'm also finding it difficult to get from Malaga to Marrakech easily (which seems to be where all the good tours are). Help.
We will be going on tour in Morocco. One night we sleep in a tent camp. "Furthermore, via a dirt road to Merzouga dunes with beautiful landscape where you admire the sunset. Dinner and overnight in tents, under the big sky of the south center of the vast desert." Does anyone know what we can expect in these tents?
My flight gets into Marrakesh about 20:00. What are the options for getting to Essaouira that night. We were thinking of taking a taxi.Or are there shared taxis like in Turkey ie Dolmus? Alternatively when do the trains stop?
Cheers
