hello everyone.... please I need suggestion.. (Day Tour Only) what to do? best beach? transportation? food trips? Thanks in advance..

Friends tell me it could be dangerous for me to spend time in Mindanao Province, especially in the south, because of a number of kidnappings of foreigners, including Americans, resulting in injuries and deaths. The U.S. Embassy in Manila has issued a warning this year about kidnappings, specifically in Mindanao. Am I taking too much of a chance in meeting a local woman there?

i have been wanting to go to ph for about 3 years now.i have been told they do not like americans and it is very dangerous.i was told to avoid zamboagna and the rest of the southern part of PH. due to the high danger for americans ... my first question is if i went to zamboagna what are the dangers for americans and my second question is .... not knowing the local language how hard would it be to communicate my third qeestion is... do i need a visa to visit PH

anybody can give me an insight as to what is the newest hotel in zamboanga city and its rates for the rooms? or any pictures of lantake hotel rooms,garden orchid hotel rooms...hard to make booking if we cant see their sites..no website really for each hotel unlike hotels in other cities...pls help...i have some foreign ladies coming with me...to see zamboanga city.

Hi I plan to travel to Zamboanga in mid August and stay at Lantaka Hotel. Could someone who know help me with the following questions : 1. Is Lantaka a safe hotel to stay ? 2.Are the restaurants and other facilities at Lantaka well patronized by locals so much so that its too crowded at times ? 3. Can we depend on the hotel to provide a safe airport pickup and drop off service ? 4.Are there any reliable and reputable spa/massage service around the vicinity of Lantaka Hotel. 5.I would like a single room facing the sea and the pool.Which floor would be the best to ask for ? 6.What are good eating joints around Lantaka ( any time of food..ie Filipino, Western, Japanese etc ) 7.Can anyone recommend some names of companies that provide a care rental service ( with driver )..safe , reputable company with competitive rates ...ie to move around Zambonga instead of using tricycles

My wife and I are going to Zamboanga in August and I have some questions. I ´ve read that there are not taxis from the airport to the city, Is that true? I would like to take a dip at a beach. What is the best and safest beach? What about a good restaurant to eat lechon? I read that many people speak chavacano. As a spanish speaker , I wonder if I will have trouble understanding zamboangueños and viceversa . If not, is English widely spoken? Thank you all

Balikbayan, 31 year old male returning to the Philippines for a vacation am considering visiting Zamboanga around the last week of September. Need a tour guide for maybe 2-3 days to show me around the city and maybe places around it to tell me about the sites, so if you have a Tourism degree/experience (or are a tourism student) that's a definite plus but not a requirement. Hello. I was going to travel to meet my friend and stay also in Zamboanga city. Another Filipino said i should not because it was not safe for me. Now im not sure and I am thinking I should fly her to Manila instead, but I really would rather see her there in her city (Zamboanga city). Can anyone give e thoughts on this? Also what hotels near the sea would be nice....doesnt have to be 5 star at all. Lastly If I decide to go ther what is the best way to make sure safe travel from the airport to the hotel? I travel to Asia twice a year and this will be my second visit ever to the Philippines which I admit is a little scary with all the guns I see. The people i have met have all been very nice. Hi Everyone, I want to set a family reunion in Zamboanga I am looking at renting a house for it its a family of 51 I think..some of us can just stay in Hotels but, I need to put all the kids in a house. Hi, I'm researching about Zamboanga City. Does anyone know of a van for hire that would take us around to Zamboanga's famous tourist spots? And how much does taking a pumpboat usually costs? We're going to Sta. Cruz island, Bolong and Dakak. I'm not sure how far they are from each other but if I want to go to these beaches is a day trip island hopping enough? If not, can you suggest a more doable itenerary? Thanks in advance!

Hello peeps my friends and i are planning to go back to zambo and Basilan this june 7-9 long weekend. what zambo hotel do you recommend that is affordable yet not the "sleazy" type. do u know of a nice accomodation thats affordable in Basilan? last time we went there we only had a day tour then. what are the reates for these accomodations and do you have their contact number? Hi Guys, Has anyone travelled that way lately, and if so, could you please tell me about your experience? I am aware of the travel advisories for Mindanao and the Sulu Sea, I am more interested in the ferry trip as such. Also, on the Weesam Express website www.weesamexpress.com , in addition to the fare Zamboanga to Sandakan, there is a "Travel Tax Certificate" of PHP1620. A friend of mine told me theres a ferry that leaves for Sandakan called "Wissam Express". Can somebody help by giving me details as to where is the terminaol located, voyage scheds and fares? any tips? Any help would be highly appreciated. Evan
