Hello peeps my friends and i are planning to go back to zambo and Basilan this june 7-9 long weekend. what zambo hotel do you recommend that is affordable yet not the "sleazy" type. do u know of a nice accomodation thats affordable in Basilan? last time we went there we only had a day tour then. what are the reates for these accomodations and do you have their contact number? Hello Eric! I just got back from Zamboanga last Friday. I stayed at the Grand Astoria Hotel (a bit of a big name for a small hotel). The hotel is along main street Zambo and very accessible to PUVs. It is clean and comfy, most important of all, the rates are reasonable. e.g., P695 for a standard single room good enough to be shared by 2 pax. A double room is P995. It is mostly used by business travelers and locals for their family affairs so it is quite reputable. The price of food isn't bad either. A dinner for 3 can cost you something like P750++.
