Hi How do I get from Geneva airport to Yvoire? By public transportation Do I take train to Nyon and boat? In that case, where can I find the cost and shedule? If not, do you recommend another way? Thanks R
You can find train times, details and fares in English here: http://www.sbb.ch/en/home.html The Yvoire tourist info site: yvoiretourism.com/chapitre7_... suggests train to Thonon Les Bains and then bus. I have not yet found the relevant bus timetables... You could take the boat from Nyon if it is running when you visit. Timetables and info here (in French): http://www.cgn.ch/

I should make it clear that I have not made this particular journey. I'm just giving you some relevant sites to explore before (hopefully) another VT-er turns up to give more specific advice. :-)

Easiest is probably train directly from the airport to Nyon, and boat from there. The advantage is that both trains and boats are regular and reliable. You can go via Thonon les Bain, as another poster suggested, but that involves first taking the train to the Main station, then a Tram to the "Eaux Vives" station, there a train to Thonon (probably involving another change) and then a bus that you don't know yet a schedule of... Prices for the train you can find on www.sbb.ch, for the boat on www.cgn.ch Btw: The bus from Thonon to Yvoire is here: sat-autocars.com/img/ligne/1... As you can see, not a frequent schedule. But then this isn't Switzerland...
