Me (15 years old) and my sister(17 years old) and two parents (just over 40) are going to yosemite national park in july this year we are able to do almost anything apart from extreme things but we would like to know what are the must do's to do in this park we have preferably 2 days here more if there is a lot more to do but if you could help it would be much appreciated
Here's the official web site. There is a lot to do if you enjoy nature. There is also upper Yosemite and lower Yosemite and they are very different experiences. It is all beautiful. http://www.nps.gov/yose/index.htm Have fun.

I'd recommend the hike up Vernal/Nevada Falls: yosemitehikes.com/yosemite-v... Drive to Glacier Point - you can also hike up from Yosemite Valley (strenuous). Some more ideas to get you started: Lower/Upper Yosemite Falls, Tuolumne Grove and or Mariposa Grove (Giant Sequoias), Olmsted Point, Tunnel View... If you enjoy hiking and the outdoors you could easily spend more than 2 days here... At this point it will probably be difficult to find accommodations inside the park. If that's the case, you can consider: http://www.yosemitebug.com/lodging.html It looks like they have all of July open as of now. It is still a bit of a drive into the park from this lodging, but I believe it is the closest outside the park to Yosemite Valley.

1) View one of the most spectacularly beautiful places on this planet. 2) View it all from Glacier Point at sunset. 3) Hike down from Glacier Point to the Valley (strenuous!) OR Hike up the Mist Trail as far as your legs can go 4) View the redwoods at Mariposa Grove 5) Drive along Hiway 120 to Tuolumne Meadows Note that the above "must do's" would require that you spend no less than three days at the Park, thus leaving one more "will do." 6) After you leave Yosemite, start kicking yourself if you only spend two days here. I've been to 58 national parks in the U.S. and Canada, and 39 national monuments. Yosemite is in my top five.

Watching the sunset over Glacier point was our highlight.

In two days, your family can see some really important features of Yosemite, but though you may organize to see a lot, also try to stay relaxed and expect to walk a bit. On day !, visit Yosemite Valley Falls on the one-way loop. You can drive this or there's a free bus that's very pleasant and quick. This would include stops and short hikes to the base of Yosemite Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, as mandatory. At Yosemite Village, there's a geological museum that explains how Yosemite was formed, which is very interesting for first time visitors. If the parents can afford the cost, eat lunch or dinner at the Awahnee Hotel. On day 2, drive up to Wawona, Glacier Point, and Mariposa Grove. After this experience, the next visit would involve more complex alpine backpacking or extensive hikes to the top of Half Dome or Yosemite Falls, these latter two of which are each a day trip in itself.
