    Hello Liz,
Cheapest way would be the bus. northyorkstravel.info/search... Than click on route 31x

Quite easy - you need to take a Scarborough bound Yorkshire Coastliner bus from York to Pickering and in Pickering change to a No.128 Helmsley bound bus from Scarborough and District bus company. See www.yorkshirecoastliner.co.uk and www.eyms.co.uk/scarb/mainsd.htm .
If you need any further help please ask.

Haha, yes there is both a direct bus and the Pickering route depending on what time of day you need to travel. See the sites above.
