    Are you looking for anything special? There are of course all the usual High Street chains. Apart from that, Gillygate just outside Bootham Bar (city gate) is the sort of street where alternative shops come and go so something could have popped up there. Then there is the Blake's Head second hand place in Micklegate (with a book shop and veggie cafe across the street).
