Did someone travelling in Yogyakarta in november 2013?
We are looking to travel to Yogyakarta with another couple and rent a private villa. We are only finding homestays, hotels or "villas" that are not all that impressive. Anyone know a higher end but affordable 2 bedroom villa, preferably near sleman?
Is it a good time to go? Will it be raining heavily?
Hi, this is my first question about barobudur-prambanan.\
I would like to go to Yogyakarta next year, maybe from late January to early February.
I will travel alone and would like to find travelers to visit barobudur-prambanan together, but just in case, I would like to know how much the appropriate charge for hiring taxi for one day or a half day.
Here is my plan
Day 1 Fly from Jakarta by Lcc, use a taxi to the guesthouse.
How much is the charge from the airport to downtown?
Day2 Hire a taxi to visit barobudur-prambanan , I will arrange a taxi at a gueshouse
I would like to know the charge.
Day3 Walk around downtown or go to a famous place, sorry I didn't research yet!
So give me some advice!
Day4 Back to Jakarta by Lcc
I would like to join the tour from Jakarta but it is very expensive around 700 US dollar for 2days 1nigt, because the tour I found is basiclly for 2 ppl at the same hotel room or guesthouse.
Moreover I am Japanese and some ppl advise me not to use Japanese agency due to higher price than others.
Do you know a reasonable agency in Yogyakarta or can I arrange private tour with Taxi driver or bike rider at a guesthouse?
If you helped me, it would be wonderful!
Hi...is it reasonable for 7.30 am to 7.30 pm barobudur-prambanan tour including airport pickup and drop in a 8 seater van..thanks in advance
I have three days around New Year 2014 to see a few things outside Jogja (not nearby temples like Borobodur and Prambanan which I will see while staying in Jogja). I am willing to hire a car and driver and guide.
1. Which little trip could I make?
2. Do you know a reliable travel agent who could organize it?
Hi, I'm looking at studying at the University in Yogyakarta next year,
Does anybody know info on renting a furnished apartment for 6 months?

Thanks in advance
Are there translators you can hire once you get there?
Hi! I will be going over this weekend and would like to check if its safe for a girl to travel alone there? And also, given that i have only 4 days there, what the key attractions?
Plus, are there backpackers hostels there too? Thank you!
Are there any trains that run from Mt Bromo to Yogyakarta or that are near by to there?
Any idea how much the taxi may cost approximately from Yogyakarta Airport to Malioboro? And is it better to get an airport transfer from the hotel or are there special taxi companies with booths whom I can approach at the airport?
I want to go from Yogyakarta to Malang. The Echxecutive Train arrives in Malang at around 0400, which is very early. Is there an Executive Class Bus from Yogyakarta to Malang that will get me to Malang at a sensible time? Thank You
Can anyone recommend a good english speaking guide/driver for trips to Borobudur and Prambanan and any other recommendations like stop off on the way there or back?
Hi, will be visiting Yogyakarta on June16-18 but june17th will be our only full day. Will be doing a sunrise tour of Borobodur that day and for the rest of the day it's either we do the Merapi 4WD tour or Caving in Jomblang. I've seen photos of Jomblang with the sunlight passing through and it's just amazing. However, Merapi by 4WD looks interesting also. Please help me decide which one to choose!
i have heard of Indonesian and Balinese massage, is there massage parlous in Yogyakartha .
How many days is sufficient for basic touring and shopping ?
Is there conman activities ?
Where can i shop for the best batik both man/women at the best possible price with no rip off ?
From the time i land in Yogyakartha, as a newbie , how am i to make way to a hotel, which is not too expensive, not Phoenix nor a backpacker , a good accommodating hotel, which provides a good a/c room and the shopping districts (Batik shopping) and food outlets must be within the walking distance
We are a couple who are going to Yogyakarta to study for a semester, from September to February this year. Do any of you have any recommendations regarding places to live? Price isn't really a big issue, as Indonesia is cheap in comparison to our home country. We were looking at this place tigalima.wordpress.com/room-... (the Room Deluxe), but they were full.
Would be nice if it wasn't too far from UGM :)
Thanks in advance!
I've been reading some of the forum posts and they've been helpful. Just some questions from me :
Should I make tour bookings to visit all the wonderful historical sites in Yogyakarta e.g Borobudur & Prambanan prior to arrival or can I easily get those tours arranged when I'm in Yogyakarta? Is it a good idea to hire a driver and car, or is public transport sufficient?
I read lots of good things about Hotel Phoenix, is that a good location. It seems to be away from Jalan Malioboro where the shopping and nightlife are.
I'd like to keep my options open and decide my itinerary day by day. I'm traveling on a budget so hope that helps to answer my questions.

I want to travel from Bandung to Mount Bromo. I read, that travelling by train is the most easiest way. Does anybody know if this is true? And where/how can I reserve the tickets and see the schedule (I read, that's importan to reserve the ticket in advance, but unfortunately I don't know where/how to do it).
