1) What is the famous food in Yogya?
2) Is it easy to get Halal Food in Yogya?
3) Planning to stay in All Season Hotel Yogya... Is it a good hotel since I'm taking my kids there too...
4) Any good shopping compleks/factory outlet?

    1) Look and try 'gudeg', it's the typical dish there. You may also eat at Pecel Solo for authentic Central Javan delicacies. See my tip below:

    2) Since it's a Muslim country my assumption is there should be halal restaurants in the area

    3) Can't comment as I did not stay there.

    4) For all your souvenirs/shopping, go to the Mirota Batik store along Malioboro St. They all sell not just batik but also handicrafts, food stuff, jewelry, paintings, antiques, etc. See tip below:

    You can find "gudeg" in many street foodstalls.
    But here are a couple of restaurants said to sell the best "gudeg":

    - Gudeg Wijilan, Jalan Wijilan 5A-B, phone 0274-7114670

    I stay in Yogyakarta city, below the answer:
    1)Famous food is GUDEG, good one is available only at night at Janturan Umbulharjo ( Street Prof.Dr Supomo SH).
    2)Yes..absolutely easy to get Halal Food in Yogyakarta
    3)I have visited this hotel to pick up friends for trekking trip twice.The staffs energetic, helpful and the hotel is colorful, suitable for kids
    4)Easier to find along Maliaboro street
