by Poling Online Now Nov 6, 2011 at 12:35 AM

Am I able to visit Borobudur and Prambanan on the same day?
Is Prambanan open in the afternoon?
Thanks.

    Hi,

Both Prambanan and Borobudur parks are open from sunrise to sundown, say 6am to 6 pm.
Count on 60 to 90 minutes to get from one to the other by rented car, denpending on traffic.
So it is possible to both on the same day, but I would advise against it.
Whereas you can do Borobudur in about 2 hrs, at the Prambanan park you can easily spend the greater part of a day. Apart from the six main temples there are several other temple ruins and an interesting museum.
You could skip Borobudur, do Prambanan and Ratu Boko Palace on one day. The latter two are close together and there is free transport between the two. See the website: http://www.borobudurpark.co.id/

If you prefer not to skip Borobudur, then you may limit your Prambanan visit to the main temples.

    Hi,

do your schedule too short in Yogyakarta ? why dont you combine the trip temple-beach- kota gede etc..then the next day mt merapi - temple - keraton.

in hongkong maybe Giant buddha - Kowloon - harbour... give more nice combining trip, right?

    Cheers

Several bus/tour companies do a combined Borobudur-Prambanan trip leaving early in the morning to catch the sunrise at Borobudur, spending a few hours there, and then heading to Prambanan.
So, it is certainly possible, but I don't think you truly appreciate these amazing places when you do both in one day.

borobudur open about 4 o'clock in the morning for the visitors who need to see sunrise but you have to enter from manohara hotel and will charge about USD 35/person but free of charge if you stay at manohara
