ONLY in Daying, Suining, Sichuan: Titanic Replica Attraction....Can anyone see this great project is being built? hAS IT STARTED TO BE BUILT YET!? Thanks a lot!
Has anyone been to this bridge? I was there a few years back and after going through the tunnel and over the bridge and out the other side, you reach a plateau you can stand/sit on and have a break. If you look out over the way in THAT direction (can't recall which way it was, just new it was directly opposite from the bridge) you can see a rock formation in the shape of either a Canadian Inukshuk or a Chinese Gate. Does anyone have any info on what this is or who built it or when? It was there in 2009, my first trip, and I think it's still there, according to some shots I've seen on the web.

We are two traveling to Beijing and we plan to go to the great wall (Mutianyu section or jinshanling). We want to hire a private car for the day to leave early and avoid the crowd.
We can go either on the 19th dec or 20th dec.
We are looking for anyone who wants to join us to share the costs. If you are interested do not hesitate to contact me.
The cost is around 600 rmb for the day.
My parents decide to sell the house in Guangdong China and ask me to help them move the antique furniture left by my great grandmother to the US. The furniture is more for sentimental value. I asked container companies to help but they said the chinese customs won't allow this due to the fact that they are antiques. I was told that antique dealers in China who exports to the US will be able to help. How can I find a dependable antique dealer?
For university I am allowed to go on a short trip to Beijing from the 6th to the 14th of December. Are there any interesting educational experiences I could have? I am open to anything realy.
There is one limit though. I am only allowed to go in order to visit a one-time opportunity. For example a museum is not allowed, but a speech is.
It could be about anything. IT would be preferable, but social issues or science would be great too.
Does anybody know whether there is an upcoming event I should visit? I would greatly appreciate your help!
Subject to contract finalisation I will be moving to ZJG in Jan 2014 and will start looking for an apartment to rent. Can anyone currently living in ZJG give me an idea of which area(s) are best to live in? I'm looking for about 120sqm to 140sqm, preferably modern interior and quiet.
I am going to China for the first time next March. I plan to cover the usual spots like Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’An then see some more mote places like either Sichuan or the Guilin area.I like to travel by train as it is a relax way to see a country. What are trains like in China? Do they cover these areas ? How do I buy tickets before going there? I obviously speak no Chinese at all.
Are visits to stores and factories mandatory on every tourist trip to China? I have been told that all group tours and even privately guided tours throughout China must stop at various shops and factories. Is this true? Can it be avoided?

Hi, I'm planning to travel from Chongqing to Yichang by local passenger boat. I want to stop off at a couple of cities along the way, and also see the lesser gorges. Is this possible using local boats? Also have you any idea of the cost of a cabin. I'd appreciate any useful tips anyone may have : )
Hi, I would like to do the Yangtze as short as feasible and not on a cruiser. I've planned to take a passenger boat from Yichang to Fengjie or Wushan and then a hydrofoil back to Yichang. The other option is to first take the hydrofoil and then a passenger boat back. I found quite much info at www.chinadam.com, but a couple of things I couldn't find. So here are my questions: - is there accomodation in Fengjie (also called Yong'an) and Wushan? Is there budget accomodation -> what is the price-level? - at what times does passenger boats and hydrofoils leave from Fengjie and Wushan towards Yichang? The other way around there are loads of info at www.chinadam.com - at what time should the passenger boat leave from Yichang or Fengjie in order to see all 3 gorges in daylight? Is it even possible in one day? Approx. when does it get too dark to see anyhting? - at what time does hydrofoils leave Chongqing and when do the arrive in Fengjie? Any piece of information appreciated :) Thomas
