Hi all, I'm off to Yerevan tomorrow morning and am wondering what to pack. Are the Armenians particularly conservative? Do I need to cover shoulders and knees or are summer clothes like singlet tops, shorts, strapless dresses OK? I'll bring a pashmina just in case as I always do but I don't want to bring completely the wrong thing! We are staying in Yerevan, walking around and also doing a day trip to the Monasteries and Lake Sevan. Thanks! Natalie
Hello I am planning to go to Yerevan Next Week with lowest price for my trip how can I go to Waterworld and Sevan Lake by bus ?
I will be in Yerevan from 17-31 March 2012. I will be teaching in the afternoons and early evenings. My accommodations have been arranged but I would appreciate any suggestions on places to eat at anytime and things to do in the mornings which would help me to have the most genuine memories of Armenia. I think that the middle Saturday and Sunday of my stay will also be free. I might also do some late evening outings but I am no longer the guy who tries to go non-stop around the clock. How accessible is Mt. Ararat? The only other things I know about Armenia are that I bought the home in which I currently live from a very nice Armenian couple and that the Armenian people were victims of one of the most horrific genocides in history about 100 years ago. Thanks for any help!!!
Hello dear VT-friends, Since I've changed my mind (I switched from Yerevan to Budapest). I would like to thank all of you for responding. I'm still doubting anyway. But money and schedule are not in the right position to do both...Do you people suggest the best: Budapest or Yerevan? Looking for culture and ancient architecture! My schedule will be: Traveldates from 18 until 20 octobre 2011. Maybe there are some nice festivals or so. Looking for a fancy place to have a nice diner as well at the 19th of octobre. Please let me know and thanks a lot again! I'll post a message on the Budapest forum as well ;-)
Hi I am planning to visit Yerevan on October 23d ,How can I find a good bed and breakfast with a reasonable price

Does anybody know about this ceremony? One another question,is Nork hotel a good hotel? Thanks for your replies and for helping me in my travel to Armenia. Good luck Azita
Hi dear friends! Never been there, but I'm excited. I'll arrive at Yeravan at 22nd oct. I'm looking for a nice place for a businessmeeting on the 24th at around 7pm. I was thinking about the Marriot. Do they have a suitable bar and restaurant? Suggestions are very welcome.
Hi all, In February 2011, I need to get a bus from Yerevan to Tbilisi. There are two things to factor in - I will have a large suitcase and cannot speak Armenian. I need to know how easy this journey will be i.e. is it possible to buy a ticket before hand? When I arrive at the bus station, where do I go? When I get to Tbilisi, will it be obvious where to get off? Does the bus stop en-route (for food stops) or is it bring your own? And finally, what will the border formalities be like at the border (I'm a UK passport holder?) Any help will be greaty appreciated! Jason
Hi, I need help! I have booked a trip taking in the sights of Yerevan and Tbilisi, and after some meticulous planning, saw me take a mixture of airlines and sectors to take me from Doha, Qatar to Dubai (Qatar Airlines) Dubai - Yerevan (Armavia) then onwards to Tbilisi direct (Armavia) then finally back to Doha (via Dubai) with Air Zena/Qatar Airways. I paid for all these flights, boooked my hotels and then out of the blue received an email from Armavia cancelling my Yerevan - Tbilisi flight. Bugger! And so now I'm trying to scrabble around to find an alernative way of getting myself to Tbilisi to catch up with the rest of the trip. I've found 3 options: OPTION 1: FLY: Aerosvit Airlines fly (via Kiev) one way price:600!!!!! OPTION 2: TRAIN (overnight leaving at 7pm on even days of the month) OPTION 3: Hire a taxi driver to take me to the Armenian border, then walk across the border and hire another taxi driver to take me to Tbilisi. OPTION 2 sounds my best best. But here's the thing. 1- I don't speak Armenian or Georgian (but I can just about read Cyrillic) and so would I flouder at trying to arrange this train? 2- Will it be possible to hire a 2-berth sleeper compartment just for me (i.e. pay for two people) 3 - Will I get hassle aboard this train? 4 - How much will it cost and how soon do I have to arrive at the station to get the train? 5. I'm travelling on 20th February 2011 - I assume this won't be that busy? 6. I'm a UK passport holder - so what will the Georgian border be like for me> Any help with any of this will be greatly appreciated! Regards Jason
