Any ideas if Yala National Park would be accessible form Trincomalee? Following a stay on the coast my daughter & I would like to move inland with a hope to seeing the Park or similar while making our way back to Colombo for flights home. We would have 4 days between Trincomalee & Colombo. We don't like the idea of the advertised upmarket safaris. Any suggestions welcome.

The only other way is hiring a safari jeep (approx. LKR 4,500-5,000) and paying the entrance fee (approx. LKR 3,000/pp).

It was the all inclusive 'safari experience' & the 'open camp fire nights' I was referring to. I realize that a guide & jeep have to be hired & are necessary. Sorry about the mix-up. J
