I believe there is a bus from Xiamen to Hong Kong which is quicker than train. How can I buy a ticket for the bus before I arrive ? I will only be staying in Xiamen 2 days and I want to be sure to have a ticket. Also I don't speak much Chinese.Thanks.
I would fly to Shenzhen and then get a bus across the border. If you really have to take the bus then get whoever you are visiting to arrange it for you or alternatively get the hotel to arrange it when you arrive.

I am not visiting anyone SMS flights are 790 rmb per person I want to travel by bus or train so your reply is not too helpful!

Where are you staying in Xiamen? if it a hotel then they should be able to assist. If you haven't got accommodation booked somewhere then you will need to get someone who can write in Chinese to give you some cards with particular requests on them or alternatively use a guide book like Lonely Planet which will have a lot of the questions you will need to ask (you just show the sentence in Chinese to the person). I used to have a couple of contacts in Xiamen but they have moved recently. maybe you could ask on http://xiamenexpat.com/ as this will have locals who speak English that have more knowledge of the area.

I have had a look on the net and the general opinion is that you can only get bus tickets at the bus depots and not online.
