    • Wang Cong'er

by DRJJ Online Now Feb 13, 2015 at 6:47 PM

Does anyone know the name of the specific mountain or mountain range that the White Lotus sect leader, Wang Cong'er, jumped from in 1798 instead of surrendering? Some sources say it's Moshan Hill. Is this true and if so does anyone know of the specific area? I'm very interested in this historic event and would love to visit the location. Thanks in advance!

    • Is flying to Yichang better than flying to Wuhan then bus to Yichang?

by extonr Online Now Jun 26, 2013 at 2:09 PM

I want to go from Shanghai to a Yangtse River cruise leaving from Yichang. Most travel brochures show a flight to Wuhan and then a 4-5 hr bus ride to Yichang. I've found that there are direct flights from Shanghai to Yichang. I'd prefer to save time and money and fly direct. I'm wondering why travel companies do this? Is there something special about the direct flight or the bus ride?

by piebroch Online Now Jun 30, 2012 at 6:00 AM

In August we will arrive at Wuhan by train from Guangzhou at 12.45 approximately and transfer to the overnight train to Beijing. The Beijing train leaves from Wuchang the same evening. What is the best way to travel between the 2 stations and roughly how long should it take us. Also any suggestions what we should try and see while there, remembering we will be carrying our luggage.

by evojim Online Now Apr 27, 2008 at 3:07 PM

I am flying into Wuhan and need to find my way to Yichang for my Yangtze river cruise at the same day. I have some questions:

      1) Is taking the bus from Wuhan to Yichang the quickest and the best way?
      2) The long distance bus station at Xinhua road, Hankou. is where I board the bus to Yichang.
      3) How often the bus ran from Wuhan to Yichang?
      4) How far is the airport to the bus station approximately?

      Thanks

      Jim

    • Airport Bus - Where.....? How.....?

by tanby Online Now May 12, 2007 at 3:34 AM

My cruise ends in Wuhan and the ship arrives at the pier at around 12:00 noon.

      1. By what time must I be at the airport for my flight departing at 18:30?

      2. From where can I catch the airport bus?

      3. Is the airport stop near the pier? If not, how do I get there from the pier?

      4. What can I do/see in that little time I have before laving for the airport?

      Thanks...

    • buying hair colouring

by birdhaven Online Now Mar 19, 2007 at 10:47 PM

We will be living in Guangshui in the Hubei province and will be visiting Wuhan regularly for shopping etc. I am trying to find out if one can purchase hair dye/tint as my hairdresser in N.Z. is going to show us how to do it. I understand that one is not supposed to transport it on the plane with you - at least only in very very small quantities. The product I am keen on buying is L'Oreal which is produced in China but am not sure if it is available for the western market ie blonde tints. Also if when one tries to buy it from a western section of the shop etc if it is bilingual as far as the product name and instructions. Any help would be appreciated regarding this subject as well as good hairdressers in Wuhan for a trim etc.
