Hi - I would try to connect with the expats. You can google for expats in germany or other areas near where you will be. They are a great source of information and friendship. Here are a few links to get you started...

Good luck!

Type Worms into the Search Window here. When you get to the Worms travel pages, check for VT members who live there. Perhaps you could set up a VT meeting with some of them. Good luck.

I second posting in toytown Germany. If you look into the forum there, don't only read about Rheinland-Pfalz, where Worms would be found, but also about Baden-Württemberg. Worms is not far from the border to Baden-Württemberg and in Heidelberg there are many young people from all over the world.
Good luck. I hope your family is very nice with very good children and you'll enjoy your stay here.

Ciao Cristina,
I grew up close to Worms and loved this region. Since several years I come back quite often and still like it. On the first view it looks a bit grey, but the people are nice and there is a lot to see. If you like, look at what I wrote about the town:
Worms Things to Do Tips by Trekki
Also if you like, I can show you around a bit. From April 2 on I will have quit my actual work and am free to do what I like - and ...trasferirmi to Marche end of next year :-)
Oh, by the way: April 6 and 7 is the weekend when Worms has an event called "Worms blüht auf", something like Worms is blossoming. Sunday they have vendor stalls in the streets and the atmosphere is nice :-)
Where do you come from? I mean which town or city in Italy?
Welcome to Germany and Palatinate :-)
Ingrid

Cristina, Take advantage of Trekki`s offer above. She showed us around last Fall and was a big help and a lot of fun. She's also one of our VT Italy experts so you'll have a lot in common.
Enjoy your time in Worms.

If you have any interests like sports, music etc. join a "Verein" (club). E.g. a sports club, choir etc. This is the best way to get in contact with the locals.
