Hi everyone,if you are travelling to Cairns,QLD on Sunday 3rd June take note that the Cook Highway will be closed Northbound from Buchans Point,Palm Cove to Port Douglas from 7am to 6.30pm and Southbound from Port Douglas,Buchans Point,Palm Cove from 6am to 6.30pm.Access to Port Douglas is via the Kennedy Highway through Kuranda,Mount Malloy and Mulligan Highway.Sunbus will operate on a Sunday timetable but some delays are foreseen. Quicksilver boat (Silversonic) will operate a service between Port Douglas and Cairns.Contact your operater direct for airport txs.The Cairns Airport Ironman is being held on that day. The Cairns Lagoon will be closed to the public from 6th June for 4 weeks for maintainence. Dorrise from Cairns.

    Thanks D - is this because of road works, or the eclipse of the sun - LOL And who would want to swim in the lagoon in June/July it is winter and I saw you got only 25 yesterday - brrrrrrrr, did you put the heater on - LOL

    No David,it is the Cairns Ironman race and heaps of visitors from overseas swim during our dry season haha.
