Hi, I am planning my trip in some of the European countries shortly, and i will be using the car as my main medium of travel. I came across this website called "www.rentalcars.com", has anyone used their service previously and are they trustworthy for me to go ahead and make the payments etc. Thanks Regards, RUPESH

I have rented cars in several European countries using a number of different companies over the years and have had no trouble with any of them. ( Only time I had trouble was once in the USA and that was down to employee dishonest not the comapnay itself ) I have not heard of the company you mentioned - I see thay are part of a larger travel outfit -Priceline. Perhaps worth your time to look them up if you are worried.

Also hit by Goldcars and rentalcars.com. Voucher said nothing about pick up point not being at the airport - bus arrived and would only take one person from party and leave the other stranded at the airport. Drove to offices where they wanted credit card against damage up to 5000 euros... plus wanted £90+ for petrol. That would take 6 months in Menorca!! Other passengers stranded at airport so the pressure is on. Nearly caved in but asked what would happen if i didn't take car as don't agree these charges - they said no problem can sort with rentalcars.com in uk as our contract with them. NOW... rentalcars.com trying to quote different T&Cs that aren't on the website, say I should have called the freephone 00800 number - Orange confirm that's 29p a minute. Emailed (as suggested in case of probs) but they now say I should have phoned. They say no refund - as far as they are concerned I was a no--show. Still fighting this. It's not just my £90 - it's everyone else who will get done big time by this company. Clearly customer service isn't at all bothered about servicing customers. Spend a bit more than the advertised rate - and get a proper deal with a decent firm.
