Travelling by Europe!

by rivambroza Online Now Apr 25, 2012 at 3:04 AM

Hello guys! I know it sounds crazy, but I have an idea to visit some Europe countries by car with my family. We have a natural gas and petrol in our car. I'd like to know the problems the travelling by car. What about Schengen visa? If I am going to visit some countries in Schengen zone I have to buy only one general visa or in each country separately. What countries have an automobile gas compressor stations (natural gas station)? Where can find this information? How much will the 1 cube cost? Waiting your replies.

cng-stations.bplaced.net/Eur... will give you a country by country list of where CNG station are. CNG general costs 1/3 to 1/2 of the petrol price. For Schengen countries only the one visa is required. You are allowed a maximum stay of 90 days in a six month period. http://www.schengenvisa.cc/ You will need to investigate what is required re insurance and other papers for the car before travelling.

There might be some problems with the visa. Generally visa is issued just for the time you intend to stay in the Schengen contry(ies) - usually air tickets/hotel reservations are required. Which might be difficult in your case. So financial funds/insurance checks will be enforced strictly. Visa is issued by the country in which territory you are entering the Schengen zone (and valid in all the remaining countries)- check requirements with their embassy. Since quite many Ukrainians are working illegaly in Slovakia, Czech Republic and elswhere - going with the family by car might attract increased attention of the consulate staff - expect detailed interview/checks.

For Schengen visa, you have to apply to the member you would be spending the most time in, or if spending an equal amount of time in each, the first one you would be entering. There are also bilateral agreements on visa arrangements between Ukraine and certain countries, e.g. Poland, but of course that would only apply to stay in the country concerned. As you and your family won't be able to produce a return ticket as evidence of intention to return to UA, the Embassy concerned will probably require evidence of work etc. commitments for all concerned, plus evidence of hotel bookings for your stay in the Schengen zone (cf: "Confirmation of travel itinerary, accommodation booking or invitation from friends or family in Poland.). In addition, you'll have to be able to prove that you have sufficient funds to cover your family's stay for however long it will be. I presume you know about restrictions on LPG- and CNG-powered vehicles on certain ferries and in enclosed car parks. You could also do with a blue parking disk, but presumably you will be checking driving etc. rules for each of the countries you intend to visit.
