Looking at the possibility of getting a ferry from Hong Kong to Taiwan in early April....is this possible?? also is there any visa problem re entering China after visiting Taiwan..??I have a multi entry..on Oz passport..Any idea of times or cost?? prefer this to flying if possible..any answers gladly received..cheers Denny...
Do you realize how far the distance IS??? I am going to stick my neck out and say there has never been any ferry service; certainly not to my knowledge, and spent many yrs travelling the areas.

I agree, they might look very close on the map, but they're pretty far away. Enough that there are flights between the two. If its approachable by ship I doubt that it would be by Ferry, maybe by cruise?

it's definitively better that you apply for china visa before you visit Taiwan, otherwise you never know. I have few friends there working and on studies and they say that they can reject you issuing China visa if there was Taiwanese visa already. So, it's a bit tricky, you know... also, if you need multiple entry... they sometimes want to see your tickets as they don't like to issue this visa.... well, probably depends on the place where you apply and moods of the visa staff. so, if you have your visa already - that's good then. i hope you will have no problems at the China border points.
