I booked for end May tour on the official website - Very weirdly I got an email back from the official website that I do not have to book the guided tour, upon asking, they say can enter Museum on our own before 10 AM or after 3 PM on our own.
I am confused as earlier forum responses and the official website did say to enter Auschwitz 1 during my travel dates I need to have book a tour / guide. Can someone please clarify because I only have 1 particular day to go to Auschwitz and want to ensure this is well planned ahead.
If I have to be there before 10 AM when do I start taking the bus there?
Let me know your views. Thanks!
I am a leader in a belgian scouting group.
This summer we are travelling to poland.
We plan to hike around gorczanski national park, but I still need some information
Most of all I would like to know if it is possible to hike there for multiple days, and if so are there places to spend the night around the park?
And maybe some information about routes to travel.
I am trying to locate a large apartment near the main square, previously we stayed in the Rezysent hotel on Grodzka and the location was perfect. So far I have just been offered apartments with 3 beds to a room or multiple 2 bed apartments. We are 6 men in our 50s and I am over for my 50th Birthday. We dont mind paying a bit more for something good. All the ones on the Old Town apartment site that looked perfect have already gone!
Any thoughts much appreciated.
I have a friend who is travelling there for his Daughters Confirmation this week and have asked him to have a look. At least he speaks the language!
I was looking in this page about the prices of the Wawel monuments. I don't undestand what the columns 1IV-31X and 1XI-31III mean.
Does anyone knows?
Can anyone tell me witch is the schedule of this festival?
This year it is on 14th June, right?

What is the best way to get to Wroclaw from Krakow? I checked train timings already, but unable to locate any information on bus. Can someone share more on bus?
I would like to depart from Krakow to Wroclaw early morning, make a trip to the Churches of Peace, overnight in Wroclaw, then depart to Berlin the next morning. Is this do-able?
Thanks!
Need to purchase a train ticket Krakow to Prague. When I go to Polrail, I can purchase my ticket for mid April, however, it is not an e-ticket and regardless of how I want to pick up the ticket, I would pick it up in Krakow, there is a charge of around CAD$9.00 to do so. Is it really necessay to purchase in advance do the fares change as the departure date gets closer?
Hi - I am planning a trip to Krakow in May. I would like to find out more specific about these 2 attractions:
1) Auschwitz
What is the best way to get there (there are 4 of us, but we would like to DIY using public transport instead of joining a tour / drive)? Is one day trip enough for this? What to expect and any other tips appreciated. We are staying in the city centre and hope to get specific directions on how to get there.
2) Wieliczka Salt Mine
What is the best way to get there? How long is the journey and is this doable within half a day? If yes, any suggestion what to incorporate? (Planned for walking tour of old town and jewish town on another day).
THANK YOU!
What is the best month to visit in terms of concerts and street markets between June and September?

Hi can anyone tell me what there is do in Zaopane in the summer other than cycling and hiking.
Hi
I have been trying to find an apartment for 9 nights in Krakow end of July. I am getting confused about the best area to stay in. In my experience right in the centre can be a little noisy, areas around train stations can be generally dirty/sleazy. I have emailed the owner of this apartment but I am wondering whether it is a little bit too far out of the centre. We are two professional/mature adults who enjoy feeling safe and comfortable with an element of luxury when on holiday. We like to be centrally based but are not afraid to walk if the journey has something to offer.

I am hoping someone can help me decide before all the best apartments are snapped up.

I notice many bunches of flowers left on the camps . . Is there a flower shop on site ..?..or should I take flowers from Krakow , when I visit in May !
Are there any football fans who have watched games in Krakow ? I will be there in March and was wanting to see as many games as I can, even ones in the lower divisions. Any tips on who to see and other useful information ? Also, is it true ID passes are required to see eg Wisla in the top division ? If so how do I go about getting one as a visitor ?
Hi am wondering if anyone knows of a cab company who actually have an office/booth in Krakow airport. Just would fee safer organising a transfer if l knew l could personally go to the office/booth when l arrived at the airport instead of just hoping the pre-arranged guy would be there with my namecard, Many thanks
In the course of our trip in the weeks ahead, we will have a leg in our journey where we may have to take the overnight train from Budapest to Krakow. I have found 2 websites that offer this route, MAV and Polrail. Is there a difference between the 2 trains in terms of service and punctuality? Which one do you guys recommend? I'd also like to ask if it's really necessary to buy online and ahead of time, or will it be just as easy as buying at the station before departure? We shall travel around the first week this December. Thanks for any reply!
Took the train from Krakow to Tarnow in September, to experience Ke Mora Romany restaurant. No-one had ever heard of it, yet it was advertised in all my Guide-books. any thoughts?
We are a group of 7 - who will be in central Krakow over the New Year. We like good food, beer/spirits (rather than wine), bands/singers/golden oldies & good company. "In Your Pocket" recommends a few hotel/restuarant 'packages' - but, if possible, we would like something a little less formal. Can any VT contributors recommend a good Krakow restaurant/bar/hotel for a 'New Years Eve Party' please? Thanks
