    • TOURS VS DO IT YOURSELF

      Niagara Falls Yesterday

Better to book a tour or try to do it on your own? Arriving on a Monday evening, going to the magic show; will be there all day Tuesday and Wednesday - leaving on Thursday morning. We have a 12 year old and want to do and see as much as possible (possibly including the aero tram and the jet boat). Suggestion greatly appreciated!

    • Which route to Niagara Falls?

Sault Sainte Marie Apr 25, 2013 at 3:17 PM

Hi, I will be driving from Madison Wisconsin to Niagara Falls in June and will be crossing the border at Sault Ste Marie. I would really appreciate some advice on the following: For an overnight stay which would you recommend, the usa or ontario side of the border? What route would you recommend for the onward journey? Is there a route that includes a car ferry crossing? 13 years ago I did a long drive around the great lakes and I remember taking a car ferry but cannot remember where from or where it arrived (across part of lake huron maybe?) I do remember really enjoying that ferry trip though and would love to find it again to enjoy with my children. I seem to recall spending a few hours on a lovely beach after the ferry crossing. Any clues and recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

    • Best way to get around Toronto?

      Toronto May 10, 2013 at 7:26 AM

Ok, so I have searched through several of the threads for suggestions for this, and I have found some. In July, four of my friends and I are visiting Toronto. We are wondering if it is worth it to use the TTC pass? Or would it be better for us to go by Taxi? We will be staying near the airport, but we will definitely be checking out the city. We will be there for four nights, and five days.

Hi, I am visiting friends in Barrie for 3 nights and then I'm thinking of staying 1 night in Toronto before leaving for Niagara.

It will be December and I am wondering where's best to stay for just 1 night after a day sight seeing in Toronto?
      Central but on a budget?

Any pointers on what to visit too? We are not into Museums or Galleries etc.

How to get from Niagara, CA to Buffalo Airport for a flight!

Niagara Falls Apr 27, 2013 at 12:11 PM

Hi, I am looking to visit Niagara (CA) for the day and then take a flight from Buffalo to NYC that night, how would we go about this without a car?

Is it OK to go just for the day? We will be travelling from Toronto that day. We could possibly stay 1 night and fly NYC the following morning but no point if nothing to do?

It'll be December so other than the actual looking at the Falls (doubt the boat trip will be on) is there anything else to do?

Niagara Falls Apr 25, 2013 at 8:03 PM

We're heading for Maine later this year, and since we'll be passing so close to Niagara Falls, I'd like to see it. We plan to get to the town of NF, stay for the night, and leave at 10 or 11 the next morning. What's the best way to use our time? Can we get to a good viewpoint at sunrise? Riding the boat can wait for another time - we just want to get a good look and take some pictures.

Where to stay for 1 night?

Niagara Falls Apr 29, 2013 at 11:58 AM

I am coming from Toronto and looking for 1 nights accommodation - central and nice but not too pricey although if it came with a great view I may consider paying more.

We are leaving to fly from Buffalo the next day at 12.35 so if you also know the best way to get from Niagara to Buffalo airport this would help too - I have been told you can jump a taxi cab and also maybe use a train/bus?
Slightly worried that border control could take a while!

      one way car hire

by Dean&Vanessa Online Now Aug 29, 2012 at 11:05 PM

Hi We are looking at travelling one way from Windsor to Niagara Falls using a hire car as this sounds a more attractive option than Via Rail via Toronto. The only thing is that all the car hire places we could find on the internet have outrageous one way fees. Does anybody know of a car rental company in Windsor or Detroit that has reasonable fees to get to Niagara? Cheers Dean

Safety in Windsor and Other questions

by sabogg01 Online Now Oct 20, 2007 at 12:31 PM

Next weekend my friend and I are coming to Windsor (We are two 25 y/o females) does anyone have a certain area that they would like to recommend a hotel as far as being safe places to stay in. We only want to stay in the safe neighborhoods, is there anywhere that we should look out for while sightseeing? We will be crossing over from Detroit on the Ambassador Bridge. Would it be better to stay in Windsor for 2 nights or stay in Detroit and visit Windsor for a day and then go back to Detroit? We are not looking to go to casinos or to drink on this trip. Thanks for your advice in advance!

So it's my girlfriend's 21st bday January 1st, not to mention New Years, so I want to come up and with quite a few friends. my question is, are there any cabins around town, close enough that we can get to the bars, that can accommodate a lot of people, maybe up to 20, even if we are split up into different cabins, that would be fine!!! I just don't really want to go the hotel route, i want as many of us together as possible. thank you soo much!!! Amanda

      Market Buffet Rating

by windsortenor Online Now Dec 22, 2006 at 4:07 AM

I find it strange that with most of the listings in the Windsor section,11.00 -20.00 US is considered About Average, but with the buffet it is considered above average. Who sets these standards and why aren't they comparable? As far as setting these standards, I would think that a full buffet at the same price as a "special" would be a better value anyway!
