We would like to visit Wimereux whilst on a day trip to Calais next week. How easy is it to get there using public bus or train from Calais and where could we find some timetables before we leave? Many thanks in anticipation.
The station of Wimille-Wimereux is about 25 minutes by train from Calais Ville station in the direction of Bordeaux. Timetables can be viewed and downloaded at ter-sncf.com/Images/ligne%20...

Ooops, that should be 'in the direction of Boulogne'.

Sorry - I had replied to several Bordeaux queries having just returned from there and had the name on the brain. Thanks DUNX - of course its Boulogne - I've been there enough times! There's a very nice restaurant in Wimeruex and I wish I could remember its name!

Yes, I gathered it should be Boulogne. In the end it turned out that the trains from Calais only stop at Wimille/Wimereux on Saturdays!! Instead we were directed to a bus stop opposite the station and waited for a 'Div'In' double decker bus No 9 which takes the scenic coastal road to W/W - but the timetables weren't very informative. In the end a double decker No 9 came along but it only went as far as Cap Blanc Nez, which was good enough for us as time was short and tickets only cost 1 €!! Had a lovely day, even tho the only restaurant at Cap Blanc Nez wasn't anywhere near as good as the one in Wimille!! I can't remember it's name either.
