    • Girls' trip in July to the Angel Fire, Taos, Red River area. What to do?

Angel Fire Apr 28, 2015 at 8:49 AM

We are planning a road trip to this area in July 2015. We'd like to find out where to go for some fun at night... dancing? Live music? Also, looking for fun things to do during the day. What's not to miss? There will be 6 of us that graduated HS together, and we're looking to make some great memories together!

      KC visit late July

Kansas City Apr 19, 2015 at 7:15 PM

We're continuing our quest of baseball parks this summer. KC, Arizona, and Colorado are on our list this year. We usually spend another day or two in the cities we visit. Looking for tips on where to stay relatively close to the ballpark, and other "must-see", "must-eat", etc. locations while in KC.

      Thanks!

      Hi Virtual tourists!

This situation has been a nightmare trying to sort out so I wanted to hear if anyone has had a similar problem and if so, what happened?

The name on my Air Canada/United Airlines ticket reads "Cartier HeatherSamantha Cartier" Instead of whats on my Nexxus/Global entry card & Passport which reads "Chloe Heather Samantha Cartier".

Things to note: - I am a Canadian by birth travelling to the United States. (We have US customs in our airport) - I'm enrolled in nexus/Global entry membership program - I contacted Orbitz and she said something to the effect that they would send an internal message to TSA/united but there were no promises/guarantees. - I called Air Canada, and the rep expressed her frustration with Orbitz relaying incorrect info to its customers and then informed me that I would have to cancel and re-book because there was nothing they could do given the involvement of another airline.

Has anyone had an experience like this? What happened?

I'd like to do some bear viewing, hiking, fishing, and other fun stuff while on Kodiak Island. Most of those activities are quite costly with a guide. Is it possible to experience what Kodiak has to offer in term of wildlife viewing without a guide on my own? I appreciate any info. Thanks.

    • US B2 Visa Application

United States of America Apr 22, 2015 at 8:25 PM

My family is planning a visit to Hawaii later this year. Most of us are eligible for the VWP, but my wife needs a B2 visa since she holds a Malaysian passport, though she's resident in Singapore. From the website ustraveldocs.com, I gather that there are a few hoops that she needs to jump through in order to just submit her application:

      1. Print out a form and pay the visa application fee (USD160 in SGD equivalent) at a Standard Chartered Bank branch in Singapore. No problem, there are a few around. But the bank will issue a receipt with a serial number which is needed later.

      2. Fill out an online form and upload a photo. No problem, although the form is like 20 pages long. Mostly done, but I have yet to submit the form electronically.

      3. Create a user account, login, submit the form together with the payment serial number from (1) above. This is the problem - I am unable to create an account. Calling the helpline doesn't help - the automated voice menu doesn't cover this issue and there is no option to speak to a person. There's also a chat function which timed out. There's just a generic error message that doesn't give any indication what the problem might be.

So essentially I have to fork out SGD224 for her visa, with no guarantee that I can even get to submit the form if the account cannot be created. And the fee is non-refundable.

Could anyone who applied for a US visa before suggest what I could be doing wrong, or what the problem might be? It could be that a new user account can only be created after the form has been submitted, but that means having to pay the application fee first. It's a leap of faith I'm not prepared to take at this time since the fee is not insignificant.

      Thanks.

My son left his car at 8:00AM this morning and paid for 24 hours of parking at the lot next to Wilmington station. He is being put up in a motel in DC tonight by his company and won't return till late tomorrow night or perhaps another day of motel stays. Will his car be towed? Can he just pay the additional when he returns?

What Nice Places to See in Delaware???

by scotlandscotour Online Now May 28, 2004 at 7:41 AM

Hello from Scotland, UK. I'm coming to Wilmington, Delaware in September, for family and friends but whilst in the area would like to explore. I love the outdoors, nature, history and good food. I do not have a good impression so far of Delaware but I'm convinced its got good places to see, tucked away amongst the rest. Please, all you who read this, can you come up with really good VT suggestions - even the tinyest places - anywhere lovely to go? Anything beautiful? Anything you like about Delaware? We will be based in Wilmington, but can travel a bit. I'm looking forward to it, and with your help, it'll be a wonderful experience. Many thanks! Malcolm

We are in California now, so we've been trying to find an apartment over the internet, but do not know anything about the neighbourhoods. Anything would be of great help!! My husband will be resident physician at St Francis hospital, so we are trying to find something in that vecinity. Do you know anything about Canby Park apartments? or Village at Fox Point? How is that area and maybe what is it called? Any other advice would be more than welcome, we really do not know anyone there to guide us.Thanks a million!!!
