I am taking a group of children and teens from Chattanooga to Williamsburg for an educational fun trip. Any suggestions on fun things to do on the way?
The Great Smokey Mountains are on the way. Drive the Blue Ridge Highway (www.blueridgeparkway.org) for some spectacular views. Also in that area is Chimney Rock Park (www.chimneyrockpark.com). The kids can climb and run to their hearts’ content. Stopping in Charlottesville, VA to visit the plantation of Thomas Jefferson, Monticello (www.monticello.org), and in Orange, VA to visit the plantation of James Madison, Montpelier (www.montpelier.org), can be fun and educational. Busch Gardens is not far from Williamsburg. The kids will love the rides as a reward after all that educational history!
