What areas are the best for fishing July 1-15 and what kind of fish are most prevelant at that time of year? What bait is most popular? Does anyone have any basic tips? We will be on a cat and some of us will be fishing and some snorkling. Also, any recommendations for where the best spots are to dock a cat for the night so we can hit good food and a calm port? Thanks! Liz
Hi Liz, Your best bet would be to take a full or half day fishing charter, these operators are the experts and provide everything except the fish, it is up to you to catch them. As you will be on a cat you should ask the operator you are hiring from.As for best spots to dock at night ask the hire operator.We are going to Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays in Sept and I believe there are safe coves etc to dock there.
