What is the best way to get from Auckland Airport to Whangamata?

    If you rent a car straight at the airport it is easy-peasy. SH 1 to the south, then SH 2 to the east, either stay on SH 2 and head north via Waihi, or change to SH 25/25 A, and from there head south to Whangamata. Should not take you much longer than 3 to 3.5 hours.
