There is cheaper tickets available to Jungfrau early in the morning and and late afternoon. Thinking of visibility up there, which one is better?
We went up on the other side to Schilthorn early in the morning. I think the chances of it being clearer happen earlier in the day. You don't have to buy those tickets ahead of time do you? We bought ours the morning of our ride to the top. We checked the cameras on top from our hotel and saw the local forecast.

Our experience was the opposite. We waited out the weather for a few days until we ran out of days so we went in the morning. Had absolutely no visibility while we were at the top but it was nice and sunny on the train ride back down. :-( In any case, we had a good time.

@ Yumalation - in case you don't go up on a clear day you can take a look at the video I created on our ride up. @DonnaInIndia - I know you've seen my video, but I like to look at it every so often. They did say when we were visiting that your chances are better in the morning usually, but you never can predict Mother Nature. youtube.com/watch?v=suAabbCK...

Early morning - if the weather is clear. If the mountain tops are in clouds, it's not worth going up. Check the weather first thing in the morning and then decide. Good luck, you'll need it, given the shortness of your stay. I had to wait for three days, on the fourth day conditions were finally favourable.

It does depend on the time of year as well as the weather. I was there early in August and had incredible, sun all day.

It depends on nothing but good luck. Rain and clouds can occur any time, no matter which season. Nice to hear from someone who was lucky!
