Myself and some friends are travelling to NZ later this year to meet up with a bunch of guys we used to share a house with many years ago. As far as the mates in NZ are concerned, there is only one of us arriving - we are keeping the arrival of the other two as a bug surprise. But I thought I heard somewhere that people waiting for arrivals at WLG can see passengers disembarking from planes. Is this the case? Would appreciate any info! Cheers
wellington is a fairly large airport and occasionally you get flights from the pacific islands but generally most of the people will disembark using the gangways. so yes you can see planes take off and land but it is unlikely if your friend is on a long haul flight, you can see them disembark. at most, avoid the windows and browse the shops.
