We'll be in Waterford in Sept.on a cruise ship. We'd like to do the Waterford factory tour, but don't want to take the ship's tours (too crowded). We're already planning on mostly walking, based on what we've read here, but need to know how to get from the pier A. Into town and B. To the Waterford Factory. We're fine with public transportation - bus or train. Also, any other suggestions of off the beaten path things we should see/do? Mahalo!
The pier is in the town. Bang in the centre. It's about 15 minutes walk to the factory but it's a boring walk - 5 minutes in a taxi, readily available. Most of the tours will be crowded so if the ships tour is organised you might as well go on that one. Donal

I'd suggest visiting the Cathedrals, they're very nice. You can't go wrong with the City Museum. Hope that helps.

Do you know exactly where in Waterford your ship plans to dock? You see, many of the cruise ships dock in Dunmore East in Co. Waterford which is ten miles from the City. What's the name of your ship and I'll find out for you if you're not sure.
