Warsaw-Poland. Accomodation etc

by sihi Online Now Jul 2, 2009 at 12:25 AM

Hello, I will be in Warsaw 17-18 July. Maybe I will need some hotel/hostel for night. Preferably some cheaper and somewhere in the centre of the city, or close to Warszawa Zachodnia station. Can you recomend some cheap accomodation? Must I book room in a hotel now, or it is possible to find free room at the day of arrival? Is there luggage room in Zachodnia station where i could put my luggage? Thanks!:)

such question by experienced man like you? The Helvetia hostel ( hostel-helvetia.pl/?page=0&l... ) is just 120 meters from corner of Nowy Swiat / Krakowskie Przed. / Swietokrzyska, which is in the very center. Another good one is OkiDoki ( http://www.okidoki.pl/page.php?pageId=3 ). About being cheap - forget it in Warsaw. it became awfully expensive. Unfortunately no direct bus to DW. Zachodni. You'll have to change bus at the central rail station (centralna) or walk to Al. Jerozolomskie . As far as I've seen - no luggage service/keeping there.

Jevgeni, The cheapest accommodation (very basic) at good location is: http://www.hostelsmolna30.pl/?lang_=en 30 zloty minus 3 zl (10%) = 27 zl per person if you have the PTSM/ IYHF membership card. They close the hostel at 2 am. Send the reservation request from their webpage or call them (I am not sure if it's necessary, but I'd recommend to make a reservation in advance = today :-). I stayed there once long time ago (they closed it at 10pm that time which I didn't like). Be prepared to go high upstairs (there was no lift there that time). Have a great time in Warsaw. Matt. P.S. Do you know milk bars for the cheapest meals in Warsaw?

Matt, I would prefer milk bars and some Polish cuisine in Warsaw but person (resident of Warsaw) who were with us brought us to pizza bars:( But I eat in Poznan good Polish food - soups, pierogi, ziemniaki, bigos, kanapki z herbatka etc:)

so you found a hostel? There is a luggage room in Warsaw Zachodnia station, however the whole station looks a bit creepy... i wouldn't leave my luggage there. when talking bout the hostels in warsaw i recently stayed in two of them: tamka and Riviera hostel. Both were very good, but riviera is closer to Warszawa Zachodnia station.
