Hi everyone. I intend to do a trip from Christchurch to Queenstown for bout 8 days in the first week of June. I've never travelled on my own (solo-virgin!) and I'm hoping to meet up with people who have done so or intend to travel during the same time as me for a drink or even a day trip. At this stage I have no idea if I'm planning to rent a campervan and drive down (winter roads??) or grab a bus tix and book into a backpackers where ever I end up for the day. Would love to hear some ideas/suggestions.. cheers!
Hey there, Does anyone know if they are going to do flights in the dc3 plane for the public, if so how much does it cost and can you pre-book or do you just do it on the day? I went to the Warbirds over Wanaka a few years ago now but we paid to do a short senic flight over lake Wanaka and I would like to do it again this year. email at holysmokes_2121@hotmail.com if you know! Hi all, A friend and I will be in the Wanaka area over New Year's Eve...while we don't feel the need to get obliterated in a bar, we would like to have a fun New Year's Eve! Is Wanaka a good place for us to be that night? It seems like a great area, outdoors-wise...but I'm worried it might not be a good place to celebrate. Am I off-base? Any thoughts would be appreciated!
I'm booked for a stay in both Wanaka and Queenstown during the snowboarding season (Arrive August 24, 2006 in Wanaka, leave Queenstown on Sept 12). Are there any senior riders/ local or visitor, interested in showing me your slopes? I would be certainly amenable to returning the favor in Colorado's front range, from A-Basin to Vail, when opportunity presents itself. I snowboard and ski 100 plus days a season. I'm 62 and fit. Let's ride!
I'll be arriving in Wanaka from California on Feb 23 to start work and for an extended stay. Looking for a place to live. Any ideas?
